炎炎夏日怎能不去海边，“沙滩小达人”Jordon带你嗨翻天

阳光、海浪、沙滩、冰激凌…… 炎炎夏日将至，小伙伴们是不是已经在蠢蠢欲动策划自己的消夏之旅呢？澳大利亚黄金海岸（Gold Coast）、夏威夷威基基海滩(Waikiki Beach)、巴西科帕卡巴纳海滩（Copacabana Beach） ，这些闻名全球的人气海滩每年都吸引着来自世界各地的游客。人们在这里踏着细软沙滩，欣赏蓝天白云，海天一色的美景。

With summer just around the corner, you might start dreaming of your next beach trip. Bathing in the ocean and soaking in the sun can help you forget the stresses of school life. But before you go, make sure you know how to protect and dress your body. Too much fun in the sun could result in a painful sunburn. So here are some keywords and tips to help you prepare to hit the beach.

夏天就要到了，你们可能已经在憧憬即将到来的沙滩旅行了吧。泡海水和晒太阳能把学业压力抛诸脑后。但是在启程之前，大家务必要了解些防晒和沙滩着装的技巧。长时间暴晒可能会导致晒伤。所以接下来，我来和大家分享几个去海边玩所需的关键词和小贴士。

Sunscreen and Sunblock 

Firstly, always wear sunscreen or sunblock. These lotions can protect your skin from harmful UV, or ultraviolet, light from the sun. The main difference is sunscreen uses chemicals to filter out UV light, while sunblock physically reflects it. But the important thing is to check the SPF level. SPF stands for “sun protection factor.” Sunscreen usually has a higher SPF, which means stronger protection. Swimmers should wear lotion that is water resistant.

首先，务必要带好防晒霜或防晒乳。这些乳液能有效隔离对身体有害的太阳紫外线。防晒霜和防晒乳的主要区别在于，前者中含有能过滤掉紫外线的化学物质，而后者只是用物理作用反射掉紫外线。但重要的是，要注意查看产品的SPF值。SPF的意思是“防晒系数”。防晒霜的SPF值一般较高，也就是说防晒作用相对更强一些。游泳者一定要涂抹有防水功能的防晒霜。

Beach Shades

Next, there’s nothing like a pair of sunglasses to instantly improve your beach style. Also called “shades,” sunglasses could make you look like a rock star, while also protecting your sensitive eyes from harmful sunlight. But not all sunglasses are created equal. Look for ones that block UV rays.

其次，没什么能比得上太阳镜更有沙滩范儿了。太阳镜也叫“墨镜”，戴上它会有摇滚明星的感觉，而且能保护敏感的肉眼不被阳光晒伤。但也并非所有的太阳镜都是一样的。要找就找那种能防止紫外线照射的。

Swimsuit Selection 

Swimsuits are the most fashionable piece of beachwear. They’re also called bathing suits. Women may wear either one-piece or two-piece swimsuits, called bikinis. In the US, men usually wear swim trunks, which are loose shorts for swimming. But in China and Europe, many men prefer to wear tight-fitting swimwear called “Speedos.” Actually, Speedo is a name brand. It’s used to describe a man’s swimsuit that looks like briefs underwear.

泳衣可谓是最时尚的沙滩服装了。它也叫“泳装”。女士们常穿的“比基尼”就是连体的或者两件式的泳衣。在美国，男士通常会穿泳裤，它是一种游泳常穿的宽松短裤。然而在中国和欧洲，很多男士更倾向于穿一种叫“Speedos”的紧身泳裤。实际上，Speedos是一个泳裤品牌的名字。这个词用来描述像短裤一样的男士泳裤。

Swimming Safety

Of course, swimming in the sea is more dangerous than swimming in a pool. You must watch out for animals like sharks and jellyfish. When at the beach, always swim with a buddy and make sure a lifeguard is on duty. Remember, safety first! In the US, lifeguards are usually young and strong, and wear red swimsuits. They sit on tall chairs on the beach so they can watch the swimmers. When a lifeguard sees a person drowning, he or she will blow a whistle, run across the beach and dive quickly into the water to save the swimmer’s life.

在海里游泳当然会比在泳池危险。要留神鲨鱼和水母之类的动物。在海边时，要有人陪同才能一起下海游泳，同时确保有救生员在附近。记住，安全第一！在美国，救生员通常都年轻力壮，身着红色泳衣。他们会坐在沙滩的高椅子上，方便观察游泳的人们。当救生员发现有人溺水时，他/她会吹响哨子，从沙滩上跑过，潜入水中，救出溺水者。

Ice Cream Trucks 

If you’re lucky, you’ll find an ice cream truck. They usually sell two kinds of ice cream: bars and soft serve. Classic ice cream bar flavors include strawberry shortcake, toasted almond and chocolate eclair. Most ice cream trucks offer two flavors of soft serve—vanilla and chocolate. There are also different kinds of ice cream cones, including sugar, wafer and waffle cones. Finally, you can choose a tasty topping. Rainbow sprinkles and crushed peanuts are the most common.

如果幸运的话，你会看到冰淇淋车。这种车通常出售两种冰淇淋：雪糕和甜筒。典型的雪糕口味有草莓酥饼味、烤杏仁味和巧克力泡芙味。大多冰淇淋车都有两种口味的甜筒：香草味和巧克力味。甜筒蛋卷也分很多种，普通的甜蛋卷、威化蛋卷以及华夫饼蛋卷。最后一步，你还可以选一种美味的配料撒在顶部。最常见的两款配料是彩虹巧克力和花生碎。
