2、酒文化（wine culture）

中国人在7000年以前就开始用谷物酿酒。总的来说，不管是古代还是现代，酒都和中国文化息息相关。长久以来，中国的酒文化在人们生活中扮演着重要的角色。我们的祖先在写诗时以酒助兴，在宴会中和亲朋好友敬酒。作为一种文化，酒文化也是普通百姓生活中不可分割的部分，比如生日宴会、送别晚宴、婚礼庆典等很多场合中，随处可见酒的身影。

京剧是中国的一种传统艺术。它是中国戏曲的一种，起源于1790年四大徽班（Four Great Anhui Troupes）入京表演的时候，发展于19世纪中期，到清朝达到全盛阶段。京剧被看成是中国文化艺术的瑰宝。虽然它被称为京剧，但是它的起源地却是中国的安徽省和湖北省。京剧先是一种宫廷表演艺术，而后才慢慢普及到民间。在数百年前，京剧作为一种新的戏曲形式，无论在哪里进行表演，都饱受欢迎。而在现代社会中，京剧等传统戏曲却不大能被年轻人接受，面临着巨大的生存危机。

It is a kind of Chinese opera which was born when the Four Great Anhui Troupes came to Beijing in 1790, arose in the mid-19th century and was extremely popular in the Qing Dynasty. 昆曲（Kunqu Opera），据传是中国所有戏曲形式之母。其起源可追溯到元代末期的长江流域下游。昆曲因其音乐、朗诵(recitation)以及表演者的步调、温柔的唱腔，被认为是一种高雅的戏曲。昆曲常在表演中融入古诗文化和旧时故事，该艺术有着很高的文学价值。且对中国各种戏曲形式的形成有着巨大的影响，包括川剧和京剧，也均受过昆曲的影响。2001年，被联合国教科文组织认定为非物质文化遗产。

5、皮影戏（Shadow Play） 

皮影戏，是中国传统民间艺术之一。表演过程中，表演者藏在白色幕布后面控制木偶，同时通过民歌讲述故事。通常，表演有鼓和弦乐器伴奏。和京剧一样，皮影戏也有明确的角色设定。在二十年前，有着民俗风格特色的皮影戏曾是中国农村里的娱乐形式之一。但是，由于现代媒体，比如电视和电影的冲击，这一古老的艺术在逐渐消失。但幸运的是，皮影戏在一些中国农村地区依然存在着，并深受欢迎。近几年，皮影戏还被搬上了欧美地区的舞台。

During a shadow play performance, performers hide themselves behind a white curtain and control puppets, while also narrating the story through folk song. Performances are generally accompanied by playing drums and stringed instruments. Similar to Peking Opera, characters are clearly defined. Shadow play, with distinctive folklore styles, had long been one of entertainment forms in Chinese villages till two decades ago. But this ancient art is gradually disappearing due to the impact of modern media such as television and movies.
