为什么《绿皮书》拿下了今年奥斯卡“最佳影片”？

北京时间今天中午结束的第91届奥斯卡颁奖礼上，电影《绿皮书》5提3中，一举斩获最佳影片、最佳原创剧本、最佳男配角三项重磅大奖，成为本届奥斯卡最大赢家。

导演彼得·法拉利在领奖时表示，这是一部关于爱的故事，不管我们彼此之间有何差异，都要爱护对方，探寻我们究竟是谁。我们都是一样的人。

The road-trip dramedy had a bumpy road to the Oscars, but "Green Book" ended up taking the night's biggest prize anyway.

The 1960s-set film about a black musician and his white bodyguard driver on a road trip through of the Jim Crow South won three awards at the 91st Academy Awards: best picture, best original screenplay and best supporting actor, for Mahershala Ali.

“The whole story is about love,” director Peter Farrelly said while accepting the best picture award. “It’s about loving each other despite our differences and finding out the truth about who we are. We’re the same people.”

影片由维果·莫腾森和马赫沙拉·阿里主演，讲述了1962年非裔美国钢琴家唐·谢利和其雇佣的意大利裔司机托尼·立普凭借着绿皮书的指引，开车前往美国南部巡演的故事。

《绿皮书》于2018年11月21日在美首映，如今已经获得高达93%的烂番茄观众好评度，IMDb也给出了8.3的高分。

影片中的“绿皮书”是一本专门为了黑人量身定做的旅行指南，表面上为了黑人的便利，实则是赤裸裸的种族歧视。

Green Book, starring Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali, tells the story of an unlikely friendship between an Italian American driver and an African American pianist on a concert tour from New York through the deep south in 1962, one year after the Freedom Riders. They carry a Green Book in an attempt (spoiler alert: ill-fated) to stay out of trouble.

故事的两位男主，一位是才华横溢的黑人钢琴师唐·谢利，由马赫沙拉·阿里扮演。 

另一位则是由维果·莫腾森扮演的带有偏见的意大利裔司机托尼·立普。 

上世纪六十年代的美国正处于黑人民权运动中。1961年，在美国南方发起了挑战南方种族隔离做法的运动——自由乘车者（Freedom Riders）。该运动的第二年，即1962年，一位黑人雇主和白人司机一路向南，必然会有不一样的心境和遭遇。

再加上两位男主地位和性格悬殊，如何从格格不入到惺惺相惜，更是成为了影片最大的看点。

影片根据艺术大师唐·谢利巡演故事改编，唐·谢利的父母都是牙买加人，他本人出生在美国佛罗里达州，为了巡演他雇佣了一位名叫托尼·立普的纽约司机。

托尼是意大利裔美国人，他带着偏见开启了这段旅程，遇到谢利也令他十分困扰。

谢利18岁时就在芝加哥演奏柴可夫斯基的音乐，但是后来转变了方向，他曾告诉亲朋好友，音乐经理人胡洛克告诉他“有色”表演者应该到各地区演出。

The story is based on a tour the virtuoso Don Shirley, born in Florida to Jamaican parents, undertook with a Bronx native called Tony Lip at the wheel. As family legend had it, Lip began the trip with prejudices incubated in the Italian American streets of his youth that he found scrambled when confronted by Doctor Shirley, as he was known.

The real-life characters upon which the film characters are based were extraordinary. Shirley debuted playing Tchaikovsky at age 18 with the Boston Pops in Chicago but was diverted from a classical career, he told his family and friends, by the impresario Sol Hurok, who advised him that “colored” performers had to work elsewhere. 

一路上，对于黑人的歧视随处可见。在邀请谢利演奏的会所，他没办法上公用的厕所；路过高级西装店，店员见他要试穿，表示无法借给他试衣间；负责准备钢琴的工人，觉得黑人就配弹个垃圾钢琴；谢利走进一所酒吧喝酒，却被一群白人暴揍威胁；甚至，在本该最尊重法律的警局，他的权利照样受到伤害……

作为一个从小接受高雅教育，出入上流场所的黑人，谢利来到南方却与其他黑人并无二致。而对于他自身而言，不被那些生活在底层的黑人接受，更是莫大的孤独。

与谢利形成鲜明对比的是，司机托尼虽然是个白人，但却出身底层社会，大大咧咧，不修边幅。但一路上他开始慢慢理解谢利，为他演奏的古典音乐感到骄傲，还带谢利吃黑人爱吃的炸鸡，听黑人喜欢的音乐。

而在谢利的影响下，托尼也开始慢慢改变，懂得理解妻子和表达爱意，也渐渐看到了黑人身上的优秀。

影片的结尾，疲惫的托尼躺在后座上，谢利紧握着方向盘，他们不再是雇主和雇员的关系，一段两个男人互相拯救的故事终于圆满。

片中饰演谢利的马赫沙拉•阿里，凭借出色表演，拿下了本届奥斯卡最佳男配角，这也是他第二次获此殊荣。之前他曾因《月光男孩》捧走一座小金人。

获奖感言中，他特别感谢了自己的祖母，称是她鼓励自己不断尝试努力，永远保持积极的心态。

Mahershala Ali triumphantly wrapped up this year's award season by winning the best supporting actor trophy at the Academy Awards, adding an Oscar to his collection of trophies for his role as a concert pianist in the interracial road trip movie "Green Book."

This was Ali's second win in this category. He won the award a couple of years ago for his performance in "Moonlight."

He dedicated his award to his grandmother, who he said has pushed him his entire life to keep trying time and time again and to remain positive.

"I know I wouldn't be here without her," he said onstage after receiving his statuette. "She has gotten me over the hump every step of the way."

虽然《绿皮书》得到了学院的认可，但是有些人似乎并不买账。

美联社记者Andrew Dalton在颁奖礼现场观察到，《黑色党徒》导演斯派克·李得知这个结果就表现得很不满，他厌恶的摆手要冲出杜比剧院，之后在门口停下，在演讲完毕后回到了自己的座位上。

由于之前《罗马》、《黑豹》有望获得最佳影片的呼声也很高，一些网友对于这个结果也有些失望。

People on Twitter were also very unhappy with the academy’s pick for Best Picture, especially since “Roma” and “Black Panther” were widely believed to be the top choices.

欧洲新闻社记者Raquel Laguna也认为，虽然《绿皮书》故事惊艳，表演出色，但是学院的选择有点中规中矩了……
